Child Care, Preschool, and Adult Day Care
An excellent program for before and after-school child care is offered for elementary students, grades kindergarten through 6th, in their own school. Students are cared for in the gymnasium from 6:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M., and 3:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. There are scheduled activities and quiet times, and an afternoon snack. Children may attend mornings only, after school only, or both. There is a nominal registration fee plus weekly tuition. Many satisfactory child care facilities in Reynoldsburg are listed in the Yellow Pages under Child Care. Some area churches offer preschool for children ages 3 to 5. In general the preschools serve children ages 3 through 5 in two or three half-day classes weekly, September through early June. Most have outdoor playgrounds. Some offer all-day programs, day care or latchkey care, and special summer activities.
Life Center Adult Day Services provides an individualized plan of daytime care for seniors and adults with disabilities in a safe and well-supervised environment. Life Center programs are available at Wesley Ridge, at the New Albany United Methodist Church, and at two new satellite locations at the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, and at Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington. LIFE Center provides nursing care and assistance with activities of daily living. Social and therapeutic programs include arts, music, gardening, exercise and rehabilitative activities. The programs offer a needed respite to caregivers, along with health monitoring, education, support groups and links to vital community resources.
