Education – “Academic Excellence”
High
expectations and support from the Reynoldsburg
community have contributed to years of academic
improvement for the students at Reynoldsburg
City Schools.
Reynoldsburg school and community leaders have
rallied behind the idea that students in the
district are not only entitled to a good
education, but to an exceptional one. Everyday
we strive to meet those expectations – everyday
we are embracing excellence in education. The
school district’s operating budget is among the
lowest in the area and the school board,
administrators, teachers and community members
have made a commitment to finding new and
innovative ways to accomplish their goals. In a
city that is challenged by its growth, the
Reynoldsburg community continues to embrace its
children and consistently shows its confidence
in the Reynoldsburg City School District.
Reynoldsburg has developed one of the more
innovative curricula in Central Ohio and it has
drawn national attention for mentoring and other
programs linking the schools to local
businesses. The district has implemented
aggressive character education initiatives in
every building. The high school fosters
personalized, small-group education and
alternative programs, such as Trailblazers, for
at-risk students and the school district
sponsors two community schools that provide
further academic programming choices for
students and parents/guardians. In addition,
Reynoldsburg City Schools offers educational
programming for gifted students at all grade
levels. The schools have won nine Best Practices
Awards and a Best of the Best Award from the
Ohio Business Roundtable. Former Secretary of
Education, Lamar Alexander, presented
Reynoldsburg City Schools with the “A+ for
Breaking the Mold Award,” the only school
district in the United States to achieve this
recognition. Senator George Voinovich said the
Reynoldsburg City Schools were, “A model
district for all of Ohio.”
But, the Reynoldsburg City School District still
remains hungry for more. Adequate yearly
progress for every child will continue to drive
our minds and our methods. Graduation and
attendance goals will continue to be on our list
of high priorities. Reynoldsburg City Schools
will continue to strive for more … more progress
at every level … more improvement in every
child. As a school district, we are effective.
Strong community support, and teachers,
administrators, and students who care a great
deal, have made possible the high quality of
education and the many improvements in
Reynoldsburg City Schools’ facilities and
educational programming. In addition to
academic classes, students can choose from a
wide range of extracurricular and co-curricular
activities to help them prepare for life.
Yes, Reynoldsburg students are embracing their
own education and learning more at a higher
level. Teachers, administrators and parents are
embracing a work ethic that continuously strives
to leave no child behind. Reynoldsburg City
Schools … Embracing Excellence in Education, as
we continue to embrace every child in our
community.
