The
Truro Township Fire Department provides Fire and
Emergency Medical Service to the City of
Reynoldsburg, Village of Brice and Truro
Township.
Truro Township Fire Department started in 1938
in a small building off Main St.. Truro Fire
moved to the J-Mart building at 6900 East Main
St. in Oct. 1975.Truro Fire opened an additional
station at 6305 East Livingston Ave. in March
2007.
The department is comprised of 13 officers and
31 firefighters. Most are Paramedics. The
department also has 16 Part Time Firefighter
Paramedics. Full-time personnel work a shift of
24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty.
The department responds to approximately 5500
runs per year of which about 80% EMS related. We
have 3 fully equipped paramedic vehicles and the
first out engines carry life support equipment.
The Fire Prevention Bureau handles all fire
inspections, fire safety inspections. This
means every business in Truro Twp. gets
inspected at least once a year. Schools and day
care centers get several visits during the year.
We also have a Juvenile Fire Setter Program
where we counsel children who have set fires or
play with fire and have been referred by
parents, police, courts or our own
investigation.
Fire education and the fire safety trailer are
another important responsibility of the bureau.
We have over 3000 children per year go through
our programs. We also train people on the safe
use of fire extinguishers with our simulator.
