"Healthy Parks, Healthy Community"
Reynoldsburg has several park facilities with a
variety of amenities. Kennedy Park has ball
diamonds, shuffleboard courts, playground
equipment and a gazebo with picnic tables,
restroom facilities, bike path, skate park,
horseshoe pits and four tennis courts. A
blacktop 1.2-mile scenic walkway/bikeway
connects this park to the neighboring Huber Park
to the south.
Huber Park has 5 ball diamonds, a playground, a
bike path, and restroom facilities, is home to
the Senior Center and is bordered by beautiful
Blacklick Creek.
Livingston House & Park have important
historical significance in Reynoldsburg. This
landmark was the home of Alexander W.
Livingston, famed horticulturist who developed
the Paragon variety of tomato. The park is in a
country setting, complete with the beautifully
restored Livingston House, gardens, walkway and
playground equipment. Private tours of the
historic home can be arranged. This park hosts
the Concert in the Parks series during the
summer months.
Rodebaugh Park is a neighborhood park-offering
visitors plenty of open space in a country
setting equipped with playground equipment,
picnic tables and a grill.
Civic Park has four adult softball diamonds,
playground, basketball courts, soccer fields,
restroom facilities, concession stand as well as
natural areas and paths. Used by both youth and
adult leagues in the Kiser sports complex, this
park is also the current home of the famous
Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival held in September
of each year.
A
new and as yet unnamed 22-acre park located
between Waggoner and Taylor Roads will have a
bike path and playgrounds as well as natural
areas when it is developed.
Pine
Quarry Park is but a step east in the City, with
extensive pine woodlands, French Run Creek and
its beautiful bridge, the picturesquely rocky
gorge of last century’s limestone quarry, and
walking paths throughout for your contemplative
enjoyment.
Blacklick Woods, a Columbus Metropolitan Park on
the south of the city, is a recreation area and
nature preserve encompassing over 632 acres.
There are several spacious picnic areas with
open and closed shelters, an attractive 4-mile
jogging/biking path, four miles of marked
trails, and an executive and championship golf
course. Wild things living in the park and seen
from the trail include families of deer, Canada
geese, bluebirds, raccoons, hawks, and now and
then, a fox. Open from dawn until dusk, the
popular park is in constant use, yet with its
large grassy play spaces, wide meadows, and
mixed wooded areas, it preserves Nature’s
tranquility that soothes the ragged psyche.
